Addressing the concerns of real estate developers over the delay in getting approval for projects, the government announced the setting up of an expert committee to suggest measures for a speedy clearance system. Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (Credai) has brought out a model draft for speedy approval of projects through a single-window clearance.
“We are constituting an expert group to look into the draft of the single window clearance Act. The committee will be headed by an eminent person and have representatives from the industry also. It will submit the report within three months,” housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Minister Kumari Selja said at the Credai conference in Delhi.
Seeking a single window clearance system in real estate sector, CREDAI has maintained that the system of multiple clearance involving about 40 departments was escalating the cost and delaying the project.
